Stainless steel is the abbreviation of stainless steel, which belongs to metal materials. Stainless steel has the characteristics of resistance to air, steam, water and other weak corrosive media, and is widely used in the food equipment manufacturing industry, such as fruit and vegetable machinery, baking equipment, pastry machinery, meat machinery, filling equipment, pasta machinery and so on. Because many food processing equipment needs direct or indirect contact with food, and stainless steel food equipment can avoid the influence of weak corrosive media, to ensure the safety and health of food production.

 
 

  

It is undeniable that most people must think that stainless steel will not rust, in fact, stainless steel will rust. According to a mechanic, stainless steel is mainly resistant to air, steam, water and other weak corrosive media, and chemical corrosion resistant media (acid, alkali, salt and other chemical corrosion) corrosion is acid-resistant steel. Obviously, if the stainless steel is placed in the chemical corrosion resistant medium for a long time, it is bound to destroy the chromium-rich oxide film (passivation film) on the surface, thereby accelerating the speed of stainless steel "rust".



A great foreign philosopher once proposed materialist dialectics, which should be viewed from the viewpoint of connection. All things in the world are in the process of change and development, and there are certain connections between things and things, and they will transform each other under certain conditions. Of course, the same is true of stainless steel. Under normal circumstances, stainless steel materials do not rust, but the external conditions change, there will be "rust" situation.



We know that stainless steel has the ability to resist atmospheric oxidation and has corrosion resistance. However, the strength of its corrosion resistance is changed with the chemical composition of the steel itself, the processing state, the use conditions and the type of environmental media. Because stainless steel is alloy steel, if the stainless steel product is placed in an acid, alkali, salt and other chemical etching environment, when the oxide film on the surface is destroyed, its corrosion resistance is greatly reduced. For a long time, the corrosion attached to the surface of stainless steel is not cleaned up in time, and the phenomenon of "rust" occurs in stainless steel products.



So, how do users use stainless steel products, and how to perform maintenance, in order to prevent stainless steel "rust"? First, if the stainless steel products adhere to acid, alkali, salt substances, or organic juice, etc., to be cleaned in time, clean up and keep the equipment clean and dry, to prevent long-term alkali substances, organic acids and other corrosion on the metal surface.



Second, because stainless steel is alloy steel, a certain amount of chromium and nickel is added. However, for cost considerations, some companies reduce chromium and nickel in stainless steel and increase the content of manganese. The industry believes that the reason why stainless steel can not rust is because of the presence of chromium and nickel in stainless steel. However, the content of these two components is reduced, and the anti-rust performance will be reduced. To this end, it is necessary to ensure the content of chromium and nickel in order to effectively enhance the corrosion resistance of stainless steel products and reduce "rust" to a certain extent.



Third, wear and scratches on the surface of stainless steel equipment will damage the chromium-rich oxide film on the metal surface, resulting in reduced corrosion resistance in these areas. In this case, the user needs to clean and maintain the surface to avoid "rust".



Fourth, if in the seaside area, in the sea fog containing a lot of salt, 304 stainless steel products will soon oxidize and rust. Therefore, the user either ensures that the stainless steel products are used in a clean, pollution-free, acid-alkali and salt-free environment, or choose 316 stainless steel products.



In addition, the corresponding content of the chemical composition of some stainless steel products on the market may not meet the national standards, and cannot meet the requirements of 304 stainless steel materials. Only when the chromium content reaches a certain value, stainless steel products have corrosion resistance. Generally speaking, the chromium content of stainless steel is at least 10.5%. Stainless steel also contains Ni, Ti, N, Mo, Cu and other elements.
